It was a very busy, but productive first day on the set! The day started early, with cast and crew reporting in by 7am. Of course when your workplace has views like the one in the frame below, the early start time is a bit more palatable:
It was amazing to finally see the whole team in action with everyone doing their part to bring the interesting characters of this story to life. Everything from make-up and costumes to the less controllable weather seemed to fall into place and it’s we the utmost confidence that I can say that the filming is off to a great start. Irrefutable proof: a happy director (a rare occurrence on sets) and for supporting evidence here’s another shot from one of the scenes shot today:
One final bit of excitement in an already full day was the filming of aerial footage. This feat was accomplished using a fascinating piece of equipment called “the drone”. Essentially a stabilized camera platform support by eight miniature helicopter blade, the drone circled the imposing cliffs of the area, catching footage that until recently would simply have been impossible to capture.

The impressive but delicate drone had to be caught to protect it form the rocky terrain. Fortunately our brave assistant director was on the scene.
It’s amazing how much effort and thought go into each scene of a well-made film and there is plenty more work to be done. Be sure to check back soon for more images and to learn more about this exciting film and its making!
