Being able to present one’s movie at film festivals to an international audience is always a highlight, and our visit last week of the BUFF Film Festival in Malmö, Sweden, only confirmed these sentiments. We saw amazing movies and met filmmakers from all over the world, from as close as our native Austria to as far away as Australia. Malmö itself is a beautiful sea-side town, and the sunny weather invited us to stroll along the harbor, even sit outside in a café, networking with fellow directors, producers, and other film professionals in the most pleasant way possible.
The screenings went well, with the second, young audience once again proving to be particularly rewarding. “La Vie Nous Appartient” being my first movie directed especially toward a youths, I did not know what to expect. So I am really happy that this story, which is very dear to me, resonated with young audiences, both in Gijon and in Malmö, and hopefully beyond.
Thanks again for the memorable experience! Alex K. Lee
