We are proud to announce that “La Vie Nous Appartient” won the “+Alti” prize of the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival! Our gratitude goes out to the festival, which made us feel very welcome throughout our stay, making sure that we were well fed and always had a glass of prosecco at hand when necessary. We would also like to once again thank our cast and crew, and everyone else involved in making this film a success!
We were selected in two categories, and again had the pleasure to present the film in front of both a younger and a more mature audience. The first screening was for ages 17-24, followed by an extensive Q & A. The response was amazing, with the young audience surprising us with questions demonstrating an interest and maturity that is not commonplace at any age.
The second screening took place in the evening at the large theatre that later also hosted the final gala. This audience aged 25+ included the jurors that eventually awarded us with our final prize, selected especially for their involvement with youths. Their comments and questions accordingly centered around the responsibility of adults toward teenagers, not only as mentors, parents or educators, but also of media and film not romanticising suicide, but rather treating youthful struggles with sensitivity and respect.
Thanks again! And stay posted for more festival news coming soon!
