2014 was the year of festivals for LA VIE NOUS APPARTIENT, taking us all around the globe from the U.S. to Armenia, and of course all over Europe. We especially enjoyed taking the movie to youth film festivals, where young audiences continued to surprise us with honest and engaging discussions – a very gratifying experience for any filmmaker.

The most recent of these festivals were the Juniorfest in the Czech Republic, Rolan IFF in Armenia, Oulu IFF in Finland, and finally the Olympia IFF for Children and Young People in Greece. Of these festivals, we were unfortunately only able to take a larger team to the latter, our “entourage” including both main actors, Alix Bénézech and Florent Arnoult, and director Alex Lee, taking home two big awards (more on that later)! LA VIE NOUS APPARTIENT will be presented next week at the Olympia IFF for Children and Young People, in Pyrgos, Greece! The movie will compete in the feature film competition, making this the fifth festival selection in the last two months! (more…)

Today, Sept. 10, 2014, is World Suicide Prevention Day. Several global events and actions are planned for the day, in order to create awareness, remember lost loved ones, and support suicide prevention. Suicide is the second leading cause of deaths worldwide among 15-29 year olds, but remains a taboo topic – one reason why writer/director Alex K. Lee decided to address it in a film. (more…)
